My name is Anne. I am 57, but young at heart and very active. One of my hobbies is horse riding, so when I realised I couldn't ride any more I was devastated. I needed a NEW HIP. I was told categorically by my GP "At your age, no chance". The waiting list just to see a consultant was 26 weeks. Sorry, not for me. That was when I found out about Lithuania. I did have reservations, but these proved to be unfounded, They do all their own blood tests and x-rays. You are given the 'top of the range' prosthesis. To me it meant I could ride again. 'Great Joy'. I feel the answer to their success lies in their medical expertise and their rehabilitation programme which accelerates the recovery process. The first and foremost important things I have to say about your company are, I got the very best medical treatment I could possibly have. I think the Surgeon was brilliant and such a nice person too, and his team were excellent .... Germ free and spotless, always being cleaned ... I got 2 sessions with physio and a walk with Juozas, we had a cup of tea by the river, very pleasant. This place is really beautiful and treatments are excellent. The food is good and the Doctor and staff are great ... I can say overall I am very happy with the main part of my treatment in Lithuania, and please extend my thanks to all the wonderful people who did their best for me.

My name is David Townsend. I am 43 years old and work as a motor cycle mechanic. Approximately 7 years ago I suffered a very painful football injury, which caused arthritic changes in my right hip joint, and ultimately resulted in severe pain and restrictive movement due to complete loss of cartilage in the joint ... My doctor suggested that he sign me off on long term statutory sick pay, that I could ill afford, until such time ahat my operation date came through ... In mid May we came across this website and having read hrough the detail and viwed the video, I completeed the medical questionnaire and eventually spoke to Howard on the phone to discuss the service and procedure further. Feeling assured that the level of care on offer was at least equal, if not superior, to anything I had previously experienced on the NHS, I agreed to pay a deposit and eventually arrived in Kaunas, Lithuania, in early June. I was greeted at the airport by members of their medical team who made me feel very welcome and at ease immediately ... Over the next couple of days I was assessed by the medical staff and given specific tests, x-rays etc. to prepare me for my operation and to decide which type of hip replacement was most suitable in my case. The level of one to one care I was given exceeded that which I have personally experienced during previous operations I've had in the UK. So I once again felt reassured that I was in good hands ... At the Sanitorium I settled into a private room and underwent 3 weeks of carefully structured physio/hydrotherpies deemed suitable to aid maximum recovery during the time spent there ... I was very impressed with the overall level of care given to me and felt that everyone was genuinely interested in my general well being as a person and didn't just treat me as a statistic coming through the hospital system ... I have not needed to take a single pain killer or anti-inflamatory tablet for over 9 weeks, since the date of my operation. ... The whole experience has been totally worthwhile and in short has given me my life back, for which I will always be grateful both to Howard and the excellent Lithuanian medical team/associates. I am happy to recommend this service to anyone, and despite my relatively young age, wish it had been available to me earlier.
